More than 400 activities will be held around Australia as part of Anti-Poverty Week 2011. About 1,000 organisations and more than 20,000 people will participate.

Activities during the Week will include launches, forums, workshops, awards, exhibitions, fund-raisers, publications, presentations, surveys, addresses, festivals and many other activities focussing on different aspects of poverty and hardship at home and abroad.

Adult Australians who struggle with reading will benefit from a new, innovative form of support with the release this week of recorded short stories, which dramatise the inner lives of people learning to read as adults.
Written by Australia’s best new and established writers, and read by professional actors, the 21 recorded short stories run for around five to 10 minutes each, making them an easy listen.

Her original background was Software Developpment, Training and Management working at HP, Computer Power Software and other IT Companies. In her last role, she managed 4 divisions at TUSC Commputers before chosing to stay home with new babies, including External Support Services to Telstra, Internal Computer Management Systems - Quality Management Systems, Human Resources and Financial Controll as well as sitting on the Board.
